Gorbachev's 1985 Covenant

in Ezekiel 38:3 - today known as the Caucasus. Note the remarkable similarity.
Gorbachev was born in Privolnoye, Stavropol, which is in the Caucasus.

There are numerous reasons to believe that part of the prophecy of Daniel 9 was fulfilled on April 7, 1985 (24591), by then-Soviet-leader Mikhail Gorbachev.

Twenty-seven days after taking office, Gorbachev unilaterally stopped deployment of medium-range nuclear missiles in Europe. This pledge was made unconditionally to the NATO countries for a period lasting till the first of November 1985. Close examination reveals that this gesture met all of the criteria of Daniel's prophecy which stated that a "prince" would come "after 69 weeks" and make a "strong and firm covenant with the many for a 7." The period of time of this covenant on the Hebrew/Jewish calendar is exactly 7 months - from Nisan 17 to Heshvan 17. It was made by a prince (identified as "the Prince of Rosh" in Ezekiel 38). It came after 69 (multiples of) sevens from the date of the Hiroshima atomic explosion and was with the "many" NATO nations. The significance of Hiroshima as a starting point for 69 sevens may lie in the fact that this was a covenant that involved nuclear weapons as threats to cities; and Hiroshima was the first city to be destroyed by one such a weapon. Also worth noting is that the Gorbachev covenant came 62 (multiples of) sevens from the close of the 1967 Mideast war (on 18081). Daniel refers to a period of 62 weeks from when Jerusalem would be restored...but in "troublous times".

To buttress this assertion, consider the man who made the covenant. He was born on March 2, 1931 (4831). On the Hebrew/Jewish calendar, this is Adar 13. In the Book of Esther, Adar 13 was found by the casting of lots to be the best day to destroy the Jews. March 2, 1931, is also 69 sevens from the beginning of the new age (0000) on Dec. 10, 1917. The "other prince" was foretold to come after 69 sevens. Additionally, prophecy speaks of a "wound" that was healed on the head of the beast. Gorbachev was born with a bright red birthmark on his head - closely matching the shape of the Meshech-Tubal region mentioned in Ezekiel 38:3 (see above photo).

As further support, consider this: Daniel says 70 weeks are decreed to put an end to sin. The month immediately after 70 sevens of prophetic months in the nuclear age is Gorbachev's 666th prophetic month. Here we have the number of the "beast" coming right after "70 weeks" in the age of the instrument by which the world will likely be destroyed. What is the likelihood all this could be simple coincidence ?

While the "numbers" indict Gorbachev, his words convict him. In his book "Memoirs" Gorbachev states that "Communist ideology is... akin to Christianity...". And, in an interview with ABC News in October 1995, Gorbachev compared himself with Jesus Christ; saying that he was rejected by his native Russia in much the same way that Christ was rejected by the Jews. Of all the great historical figures, why did Gorbachev choose to compare himself to Jesus Christ ? Is it not written in the scriptures that the coming "man of sin" will exalt himself to the level of God ?

Though he has been out of power since 1991, Mikhail Gorbachev continues to show signs that he is the "prince of Rosh" referred to by Ezekiel. During the State of the World Forum in late 1995, Gorbachev pressed for his goal of a one-world government; warning of individual countries having "too much power". Later, at the World Without Wars Conference of Scientists and Academics in October, 1996, Gorbachev endorsed the conference goal of stopping all wars for a week in May 2000. Though it was never effected, this was yet another example of a covenant with the "many" for a "seven" that this "prince of Rosh" was impelled to make.

In October, 2007, Gorbachev's reempowerment began with the founding of a new political movement in Russia. The Constituent Congress of the National Non-governmental Union of Social Democrats was held in Moscow on Saturday, October 20, with the former USSR president leading the organizing committee.

"We are fighting for power, but only for power over people's minds," Gorbachev told the 200 delegates gathered in Moscow.

Gorbachev said he is convinced that this social democratic "project" could rid the country of the extremities of left-wing and right-wing (liberal) forces and lead to building an integrated society.

"The country is embarking on a new path. It should not move back, but should move towards democracy," Gorbachev said.
