While not usually considered as part of the inspired canon of scripture,
the Book of Jasher mirrors the historical accounts in the Old Testament closely and is even endorsed by the scriptures:
"Is not this written in the Book of Jasher ?" -Josh. 10:13
"...behold, it is written in the book of Jasher." -2 Sam. 1:18
